Upcoming Conference information!

SWACUMS is hosting its annual conference in beautiful Tahlequah, Oklahoma at Northeastern State University in Fall 2008. The annual conference offers valuable topic presentations by excellent speakers from inside and outside the SWACUMS membership. Past topics have included:

• Merging Print and Mail services
• Departmental leadership techniques
• Incorporating humor into the workplace
• Impact of USPS policy changes on the non-profit market
• Designing productive mail centers
• Marketing the mail center to a campus community
• Changes in mail piece design requirements
• Shape based pricing updates
• Entrepreneurship in the mail center
• Risk management in the workplace
• Management tools to develop better employees

In addition to all these topics, we have networking opportunities with vendors, the USPS and with one another. The conference is focused exclusively on University and College mail environments. Our questions, concerns, issues and priorities are the priority at the SWACUMS conference. We have the opportunity to make the business contacts that help us throughout the year, interpersonal relationships to create friendships and skills to make us effective mail professionals.
